What to Expect During a Kickstart!


Finally! A course focused on the skills and strategies to successfully moderate or eliminate your drinking with the endgame being up to you to choose. Brought to you by Moderation Management (MM), the first and oldest support group for people who want to reduce their drinking.


Choose your own Journey: Self-Guided or Team Kickstart?

What’s the Difference?

The main difference is when you start.

  • Self-Guided Kickstart:
    Start anytime after you register and go at your own pace. You get immediate access to all lessons and can work through them whenever it suits you.
  • Team Kickstart Program:
    Starts on specific dates throughout the year during Dry July, Sober October, Dryuary and more! . You’ll move through the course with a group, which offers extra community support through meetings and special presentations.
    • When a Team Kickstart is available, you’ll be able to “Choose Your Journey” on the registration page.

Both options include:

  • Daily email check-ins
  • Daily lessons and activities
  • Access to a private Kickstart Facebook group
  • Access to course materials for six months from registration

Kickstart Moderation:

Kickstart Moderation is a month-long program designed to introduce, or re-introduce you to the tools and techniques used by MM members over the years to help them regain control over their drinking, and enjoy a more balanced and peaceful relationship with alcohol. Focused on mindfulness and making small, manageable changes in your drinking habits, Kickstart Moderation will empower you to make healthier choices and set a course for a successful change.


Kickstart Zero Proof

Kickstart Zero Proof is a guided, month-long program designed to help you take a break from alcohol and reassess your relationship with drinking. The daily insights, tools, and support will help you explore the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of going alcohol-free. Whether you’re looking for better sleep, improved health, more clarity, or simply a new perspective, this course empowers you to make mindful choices—one day at a time.

Kickstart Miles for Moderation

Kickstart: Miles for Moderation Miles for Moderation is month-long fitness challenge focused on getting active and drinking mindfully. With the support of our Miles for Moderation community, we will commit to either moving (walking, rowing, running, biking, etc.) a total of 30 miles in one month or getting 30 minutes of physical activity every day of the month.

More Information about MM:

We encourage you to join any of our Moderation Management meetings any time for additional support or information. We have meetings every day of the week, and some are focused on certain demographics while others are open to anyone concerned about their drinking. Our Newcomer’s Meeting is a great place to learn all about Moderation Management and the different support options available.

You must register for a Kickstart Moderation Course before joining the private Kickstart Moderation Facebook group. However, you are welcome to join the private Moderation Management Facebook group anytime.

The MM Listserv and the MMAbsers Listserv are closed email groups for people to give and get support for their moderation or abstinence journeys. Longstanding members who are happy to answer your questions and guide you in each of these communities. The advantage of a Listserv is that members enjoy a higher level of anonymity and security since members have the option to use fictitious usernames and no one has access to your personal information.
